Tadashi Asoma was born in Iawtsuki, Japan in 1923 and subsequently moved to New York. There he began his schooling at the Academy de la Grand Chaumiere and at the Art Students League of New York. He continued his career both in academia as a lecturer and a teacher, while maintaining a career as a working artist throughout the late 20th century. Known for his landscapes and abstraction primarily executed in the medium of oil, the elements of line, shape, color and texture are emphasized throughout his work.
