Michael GOLDBERG

Michael Goldberg (1924-2007) was a second generation American Abstract Expressionist painter and teacher known for his gestural action paintings, abstractions, and still life paintings. His greatest influence was Willem de Kooning's use of fiery brushwork and explosive color. Goldberg's work is in the collections of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York; Baltimore Museum of Art; Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk, Virginia; De Cordova and Dana Museum, Lincoln, Massachusetts; and the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; among others.
