John Beerman (1958 - present) is an American landscape painter whose work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. In describing the driving force behind his work, Beerman explains: ''I have always found the natural world a gateway to the greater mysteries and meanings of life. As a painter, I find that nature is essential to understanding the challenges our world is facing a source of strength, and a reminder of what we are fighting for in these turbulent times.''
Beerman attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and earned a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. He has received numerous awards and fellowships including the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award and the Yaddo Artist Colony Fellowship. His work is represented in many museums including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. He has completed several public commissions including a mural in the Craftsteak restaurant at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and recently an eighty-five foot mural in the I.M. Pei designed Milstein Family Heart Center at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
